- Can your business be duplicated? Can it run
without you? If your presence is critical to your
business' success, then don't expect a second
location to operate well without you. If your
customers do not insist on doing business directly
with you, then your business is a good candidate for
expansion.
- Is your current location creating a positive
cash flow? What are the keys to your current success
and can they be duplicated in a new location? For
example, are there other specialty shops in the new
location that help generate and sustain the traffic
of potential customers on which your business relies
for its ongoing customer base?
- What changes from your existing location could
you implement that could be expected to improve the
performance of a second location?
- Who would manage your new location, and are
there an adequate supply of qualified potential
employees in that area?
- Do you have adequate funding to open a new
location? If not, you can get capital to open a new
location through a small portion of your current
location's VISA/MC sales.
